Miscarriages are some of the most harrowing and painful experiences that a couple can go through. It’s not something you would wish on anyone and to go through it once is difficult enough. For the Patonai family, going through 19 while trying to have Finnely was the most painful ordeal of their life.

Cary already has two kids, Devlen (10) and Everett (2), and Finnley is their third.

“Two of the miscarriages were sets of twins,” Cary revealed. “It was was traumatic for the whole family — especially our oldest child. Each loss would break his little heart.”

While the journey was tough for them, they are happy to have their family exactly the way it is.

For the first two kids, you could see the progression of their size!

Devlen was 8 pounds, 2 ounces and Everett was a whopping 11 pounds, 11 ounces. It looks like the graph is growing exponentially! When they found out they were pregnant with their third, the doctors could only guess at what was going to happen this time around!

Finnley was officially born at 14 pounds, 1 ounce.

That INSANE size wasn’t even as big as he was supposed to be! The doctors had to act earlier with Cary because of just how big the baby was. If he would have been carried to full term, they estimate that he would have been a full 16.5 pounds!

“I’m using to carrying big babies, but this was on another level,” Cary said. “It got to the point where I could hardly move. It would take me 30 minutes to recover from taking a shower.”

For most babies carried to full term, a solid 6-9 pounds is standard. Finnley was anything but!

With such a big baby they have already skipped some of the other “stages” that babies usually go through.

Although he is only two weeks old, he’s already rocking diapers and clothes that are made for 6-9-month-old babies. Also, as you can imagine, he’s a BIG eater and loves to sleep! For a mom, that is sort of a blessing in disguise!

“Typically, newborns are taking in about one to two ounces of milk,” she said. “Finnley is eating around four-and-a-half ounces.”

Whatever his size, the couple is overwhelmed with love for their “little” boy, even if he grows up to be in the WWE!

“Our family is finally complete,” Cary said. “He’s absolutely perfect.”
