Tiny tots get so curious about the sounds around them.
They often copy what they hear.
That’s why in making little kids get familiar with certain sounds and words, we start with the animal sounds, and we let them listen to nursery rhymes. These are what we initially introduce as they are fun and engaging.
We cannot deny that even if they have watched or listened to it a million times, they can’t get enough of the music they love. The replaying just seems endless.
It’s part of parenting to tirelessly listen to music that your baby loves hearing.
They don’t mind listening to it multiple times. Some kids cry if you put it to stop. Even if it’s deafening already to listen to songs repeatedly just to make the baby happy, parents just can’t do anything about it.
But you can get a priceless reaction if you allow them to listen to a sound they haven’t heard before. And it’s best to put it on record to have a remembrance of their curious, puzzled face.

Mom and baby’s curiosities
One day her sister tells her to let her daughter listen to something she has never heard before. Thinking hard about what that can be, Loralee decides to let her daughter, Baby Clara, listen to live Opera.
Loralee carries Baby Clara and starts singing for her, “O Mio Babbino Caro,” an Italian song that means “Oh my dear papa” in English. She has been singing this song for various audiences before, but she sings it now for her baby to determine what kind of reaction she’ll be getting as a response.
Loralee sings:
“Ma per buttarmi in Arno!”
Baby Clara begins staring at her as she sings this short line. In her mind,
“Mom, I don’t understand a single word you’re uttering. What is it?”
Mum Loralee continues singing the following lines:
“Mi struggo e mi tormento!
O Dio, vorrei morir!”
The little girl gives a funny reaction
Baby Clara’s face is starting to get emotional, not from her mother’s voice since it sounds surprisingly terrific. But she just seems so confused.
She wants to imitate how her mommy sings, but she doesn’t have the vocal range like her mom and she doesn’t even know how to do it basically. With eyebrows nearly touching each other, the little girl just can’t put into words what she’s hearing.
Loralee tries to focus, but she’s about to burst into laughter seeing the baby’s comical reaction.
Baby Clara displays a cuter reaction as she wrinkles her nose. Now, her mom cannot hold her laughter and lets it out. She’s just so amused to see her kid’s hilarious reaction to her operatic song number. Looks like she’s the one who’s surprised with her baby’s reaction.
It’s a short clip, yet it brightens the day. We can’t just ignore a baby’s charm. They have an effortless way of making us laugh over simple things they do.
