If you were on TicTok in 2018, you’ll know that the hottest trend at that time was hand tricks.

Kids of all ages were performing “magic” hand tricks that relied on sleight of hand to create a cool (and often trippy) optical illusion.

But one little girl is bending minds with her special “finger trick” – and it’s not an optical illusion.

Josie Palonen was only three years old when her dad, Eric, uploaded the mindboggling video onto his YouTube channel in 2016.

The mind-melting clip is doing the rounds once more, though, and it’s leaving everyone scratching their heads.

Josie lives in Jewett City, Connecticut, but the tiny tot is no stranger to internet fame – and it’s all thanks to her dad.

Eric has been filming Josie from the moment she was born.

Eric has posted all the most entertaining moments in Josie’s life on his YouTube channel, from losing her first tooth to getting surprised with her first puppy. And his videos have paid off.

These videos went so crazily viral that they amassed 13 million and 10 million views, respectively.

But there’s one lesser-known video that’s catching up quickly, and that’s We bet you can’t do this kid’s weird finger trick.

In the video, Eric films his daughter doing something very strange with her hand.

“I can’t do this for the life of me. Josie has this funny little trick she does with her fingers. See if you can do it!” Eric wrote in the description.

The video begins with Josie, who is sitting in a shopping cart at a supermarket. Her dad asks her to “show everyone this weird finger thing you do,” and she’s happy to be the center of attention.

She raises her left hand and straightens her fingers.

“What the heck?!” her dad exclaims.

Josie wiggles her fingers from side to side, keeping them absolutely straight, but she seems to moving them from her knuckles.

The result is a kind of “wave,” but she’s only moving her fingers, not her wrist! “How do you do that?” her dad asks, baffled.

Her response is absolutely adorable.

“It’s magic,” the cute toddler says with absolute sincerity, “a magic nail polish.”

The truth is probably that Josie has hypermobility and is more flexible than most people are, but still, a toddler being able to fine-tune her hand muscles like that is really incredible. She must have phenomenal fine motor skills!

But, if she wants to believe her strange skill is due to “magic nail polish,” her sweet dad is more than happy to play along.
