When we talk about emergencies, they can be subdivided into categories. Some can be health-related concerns, life-threatening situations, possible fire incidents, burglar reports, and a lot more.

Some people also find it convenient to call 911 whenever they feel lonely and just need someone to talk to. It can’t also be helped when people do prank calls to 911, come to think of it, who doesn’t know how to dial their prominent number, right?

There are also some 911 emergency calls that will make us all smile in our seats.

Do you still remember the kid who dialed 911 for his Math homework about takeaways? The recording of that call went extremely viral! And even though it’s been a while since the funny call happened, thinking about it still paints a smile on our faces.

The emergency line is also not exempted from “unusual” concerns.

An Alpine, Utah mom rang 911 out of desperation and panic because she ran out of milk for her infant.

January 28, 2020, at exactly 2:12 AM, when Shannon Bird, a mother of five decided to ask for help by dialing 911. She’s a breastfeeding mom and they do not usually stock baby formula. So, when her breast milk totally dried out that early morning, she had no clue what to do.

Her husband was out of town for work and her four other children were all sleeping. She tried literally everything out, even asking her neighbors that early.

KSL.com obtained the call’s recording and there, Shannon was heard reporting her concern to the 911 dispatcher.

“I’ve been calling neighbors, and no one will answer. I’ve never been in this predicament ever. My milk just literally dried out. This is my fifth kid, and this has never happened.”

“She was screaming,” she said while explaining the situation further. “I called my husband and we were brainstorming. I started calling neighbors and teenagers in the area and my little brother and no one was awake.”

Help came and the responding officers went above and beyond their duty.

Lone Peak Police Department officers Brett Wagstaff and Konner Gabbitas stepped into action to help. They immediately grabbed a gallon of milk from a convenience store before driving straight to Shannon’s home.

There’s one problem though, the baby was too young for the type of milk that they brought. To sort the emergency out, they quickly went ahead and grabbed baby formula milk at Walmart.

In the body-camera video, officer Wagstaff said, “We’ll leave this with you. We’ll be right back with some formula for your baby — she’s adorable.”

The two kind officers came back, with the right milk this time. While handing her over the formula milk, the officer said, “That’s the same stuff we gave our daughter when she was first born, so hopefully it doesn’t upset her stomach or anything.”

To no surprise, this story made rounds on the internet.

Officers Brett Wagstaff’s and Konner Gabbitas’ acts of kindness didn’t go unnoticed not only by the public but also by their department. In a Facebook post, they shared the news about it and wrote, “So very proud of our Officers and their dedication to duty.”

They were showered with praises for doing the right thing and for treating Shannon’s concern seriously. A concern that might be taken lightly by others, however, the thoughtful officers still put their best feet forward.
