We can only imagine the pain children face when their parents abandon them.

What is even more painful is them anxiously waiting if they’re going to be separated. It was a circumstance not of their own doing and yet they have the biggest to lose.

But not all hope is lost because there are still people out there with big hearts and the kindest of intentions.

Andi and Thomas Bonura just added five more people to their family.

Their three biological kids are joined by five siblings who will never have to spend time apart. Thomas, 8, Carter, 8, David, 6, Gabrielle, 4, and Bryson, 2 are now Bonuras.

“These are their brothers and sisters and there’s no argument,” Andi told Good Morning America. She also said that despite what they had to go through, the siblings turned out to be the sweetest people they met.

The couple has always wanted to adopt.

The idea came when they had to make peace with fertility challenges. Andi lost one pregnancy and then became pregnant with twins. The twins came out early with one of them failing to make it.

Joey, 11, survived but has cerebral palsy and visual impairment. He communicates through sign language. However, he maintains to be the happiest child in the bunch.

Sadie and Daphne were also born early. Since then, the Bonuras decided to stop conceiving naturally because they can’t carry the babies to full term.

But the Bonuras had a lot of love to give.

So in 2017, the couple acquired their license to become foster parents. Their responsibilities began immediately when baby Bryson came under their care straight from the hospital.

“Then they told us to come pick up our now 2-year-old Bryson,” Bonura said to CBS, “We didn’t think we would have him forever or anything. We were there to love him for now. But we found out he had siblings.”

Other siblings, David and Gabrielle, soon joined Bryson. The older twins, Thomas and Carter, would often visit their siblings as they are living with other foster parents.

They may be growing in love but they are growing separately.

At one point, maybe because of longing, the twins quipped if they can live with the Bonuras too. It was not possible back then.

But all of those things were about to change when the Bonuras received a fateful phone call. The person on the other line said that the kids’ biological parents are terminating their rights.

When they were offered to adopt the kids, the Bonuras said yes.

Back then, Andi and Thomas thought that they’ll never have kids again. Now, they have eight kids in their household who are growing in love and abundance.

The Bonuras shared that the pandemic gave them time to bond as all their kids homeschooled together, played games together, and spend time with each other.

From now on, these kids will never have to worry about growing apart as they are now staying together just like how they’re intended to be.
