Chelsea Mueller and Jeff Bradley have been together since they were 14 years old.

They were going to get married but the pandemic shut that down in 2020. So they rescheduled to 2022.

But now, they’re expecting their first child, who could be born before they even got married.

So when Chelsea went into preterm labor on May 27, 2022, and her water broke, the couple decided they were going to get married before their daughter is born. Even if that meant they were going to get married in a hospital.

It’s now or never!

Well, before their first daughter is born at least.

Chelsea and Jeff asked the staff at MountainStar Healthcare’s Timpanogos Regional Hospital to help them get ready for their wedding ceremony. The couple didn’t want them to go to too much trouble and they just asked for help with a bedside ceremony.

But the staff was having none of that. They wanted to get married, they were going to get married.

Instead of their hospital room, the staff chose a hospital classroom and decorated it to look like a wedding chapel. Plus the hospital kitchen even provided cakes and sparkling cider for the celebration.

Wow!

If they were going to get married, they were getting married in style.

Their loved ones were able to attend the wedding at the hospital and they used FaceTime for those who couldn’t make it.

Why were they rushing the wedding?

Chelsea was already in preterm labor. They could have just postponed it until their baby was born.

But Chelsea and Jeff wanted their marriage to be legal before they became a family of three.

So a wedding at the hospital it is!

And it was actually a good decision.

If there’s anyone who knows the pandemic safety protocols and how to keep patients safe, it’ll be the hospital staff. And they’re the ones arranging every detail of the wedding.

“The nurses here really turned it into a whole event,” Chelsea remarked. “I was not expecting that. I was just shocked that they were able to pull something off and actually make it really cute.”

Chelsea and Jeff couldn’t have asked for the best wedding planners.

So on May 29, 2022, Chelsea and Jeff were married by the hospital’s lead chaplain, Jodi Bushdiecker.

And their baby approved.

Their daughter, Rheya, came out to the world on June 1, 2022, 3 days after the wedding. Rheya is actually a “rainbow baby,” their first child after suffering from a miscarriage in 2018.

“We’ve really been hoping for her for so long, and just the fact that she made it, she is here, is amazing,” Chelsea shared.

She had a premature birth so she had to spend time at the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. But she’s getting stronger every day, eager to join her officially-married parents.

MountainStar Healthcare’s Timpanogos Regional Hospital now holds a special place in the hearts of the couple.

It’s become the venue where they became a true family.

“Our lives are going to be touched forever,” Chelsea continued. “The way that everything happened, it was just so beautiful.”
