“Life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother.” – Unknown

As a child, you learn how the world works.

You get a fall from your bike, get a bruise, fail an exam, have a fight with your best friend and so much more.

Through these overwhelming events, there’s one person ready to hug us – our mothers.

If we could have one wish, we would probably wish to have our parents with us until we are old.

For Zak Poirier, his mother, Kathy Poirier, was his inspiration.

She was a strong woman who made things possible and was always there for the young man.

Unfortunately, just before Zak graduated from law school, his mother fell ill.

Over three years ago, Kathy was diagnosed wit ALS.

It targets and weakens muscles, and it’s more common than we think.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, it affects 30,000 people here in the U.S. alone and 5,000 fresh cases get diagnosed yearly.

Zak tied the knot last April 09, 2022, with the love of his life, Anja D’adesky.

It was such a joyous event for everyone, especially Kathy.

She looked at her firstborn with admiration and pure love.

It was his day, and she couldn’t be happier seeing him successful, in love, and happy.

Nick and Jake, Zak’s younger brothers, brought Kathy to the middle of the stage.

They helped their mother get to her feet, held her, and supported her as Zak hugged her.

They shared a beautiful dance.

Everyone was teary-eyed while watching the emotional dance of Zach and his mom.

The groom held, supported, and hugged his mother, just like she did when he was a baby.

Now it was time for him to show her how much he loves her.

The short clip that Zak posted on his Instagram account would make anyone cry.

“My Mom was diagnosed with ALS shortly before I graduated law school. Since that time, I’ve watched her bravely fight her diagnosis and challenge the odds against her,” Zak wrote on his Instagram post.

Kathy, despite all the challenges of her condition, fought bravely.

She didn’t want her children to see her suffering, but they knew and they admire her.

“Despite not being able to stand on her own, my Mom and I shared a dance at my wedding. She inspires me everyday to be humble, kind and selfless,” Zak continued.

He ended his touching post with the sweetest, “Love you Mom ❤️”

The mother and son danced to the song “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw in Ever After Farms Blueberry Wedding Barn in Mims, Florida.

Kathy told Fox News Digital that she felt nervous.

She wasn’t nervous about dancing with Zak; she was nervous because two of her other kids would have to hold her up.

“It’s that this was such a milestone in one of my kids’ lives, and it wasn’t what I had envisioned,” she told in her interview. “It was really emotional to have to accept the fact that I can’t stand or use my hands. And that people would be watching me. And I felt like I was going to be judged. But I knew I wanted to do it, and I wasn’t going to let anybody tell me I couldn’t.”

All the nervousness that she felt melted away when her son held her.

It was one of the most special moments of her life.

Time froze as the duo danced. Soon, the guests gave them a standing ovation, teary-eyed at the beautiful dance they watched.

For Kathy, being with her boys is where she feels happy.

She’s a mother who has so much love for her sons and they are her reason for being strong.
