A couple from South Carolina are amazed at all the great comments and positive words they have been receiving. All of this was after they shared a video of their two-year-old captured by the baby monitor as the little girl prays for the people she loves.
Kathryn and Caleb Whitt never failed to say their prayers together with their baby, Sutton. During their prayers, it was always the both of them who were saying the prayers and the child was mostly listening.
The couple did not even realize that the little girl already knew how to pray until they heard her from the baby monitor.
Both of the parents had been teaching little Sutton how to pray, but at just two years old, they did not really expect her to learn how to pray that easily. They were absolutely amazed one night when they heard her pray for the first time.
The family usually prays together after a bedtime story, but that night, they were not able to do their routine and little Sutton was tucked in bed without the nightly prayer.
An hour later after they left her in her crib, they heard her sweet voice on the baby monitor.
“We didn’t do the prayers and didn’t think anything of it,” Kathryn told ABC News. “We then heard on the monitor that she just decided to do them on her own. We were amazed by it because she usually rushes through the prayers. We’ll have to say ‘OK Sutton, say thank you for this person and that person,’ but as you see on the video, she was naming everybody.”
The couple just listened to what their baby prayed for. After about a couple of minutes, she finally said “Amen” and went back to sleep.
In her prayer, Sutton made sure she prayed for everyone and she never missed a name, not even Santa Claus!
“She never forgets anybody’s name,” Kathryn said. “She’s so sweet and kind-hearted. That’s just the type of person she is. And this video is jut a way to see that. It shows her heart works.”
After witnessing such a sweet moment from their little girl, the couple wanted to share the clip so the people she prayed for knew that Sutton keeps them in her heart.
People online were deeply touched and uplifted at the little girl who never forgets to pray at night.
Kathryn and Caleb received tons of positive comments about how they are raising such a kind girl. They are quite proud of their daughter, and to think that she was only two years old at the time!
“We’re overwhelmed, but we are definitely enjoying it,” Whitt said. “We’ve already received so many emails and messages from people saying how this video has touched their lives.”
Truly, the couple is on the right track when it comes to teaching Sutton how to be prayerful and thankful for everything. Her kindness and genuine love for the people she prays for are also inspiring.
As the Bible says in Proverbs 22:6:
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
